Savaria Infinity Home Elevator in San Diego & Orange County, CA
Hydraulic, Quiet and Built to Last
The Savaria Infinity: a hydraulic home elevator with real capacity
The Savaria Infinity is a hydraulic home elevator. A submersible pump pushes oil through a cylinder arrangement that lifts the car on cables, and a variable-speed valve and automatic leveling bring it to a smooth stop at each landing. Savaria rates it as quiet. It is a good fit when a home has a basement, utility room or garage corner where a small machine room can live.
Advantage Elevator is a Savaria Elite dealer, so we sell, install and service the Infinity ourselves, from our Carlsbad and Costa Mesa offices. Our installed price for a traditional home elevator in Southern California typically runs Pricing depends on the model, number of stops and construction — see what a home elevator costs.

Who the Infinity suits in San Diego and Orange County
Hillside custom homes. In La Jolla, Point Loma, Laguna Beach and Anaheim Hills, houses often step down a slope over three or four levels. The Infinity serves up to five stops, so one hoistway can run from the garage up to the top bedroom level. Many of those houses already have a basement or lower-level utility room where the machine room can sit.
Larger families and caregivers. If a power wheelchair and an attendant have to ride together, the HD’s 1,400-pound rating and 48 by 60 inch cab give you the room. That headroom also matters for families who carry equipment or bulky items between floors.
New construction and remodels. Because the Infinity needs a machine room, it is easiest to plan into a new build or a major remodel, such as a Carlsbad La Costa home or a rebuilt Newport Beach bayfront house. We work with your architect and builder so the shaft and machine room are in the plans from the start.
If you have no space for a machine room, look at the Savaria Eclipse or the Zenith, both of which are machine-room-less.
Finishes and cab sizes
The Infinity offers the same cab sizes and finishes as the Eclipse: 36 by 48, 36 by 54, 36 by 60 and 40 by 54 inch cabs at 80 inches high, with 84 and 96 inch heights optional, and custom sizes. Walls come in melamine or unfinished MDF as standard, with luxury MDF, routed white MDF, veneer and solid hardwood available. Fixtures are clear or bronze anodized, or white powder coat. A touchscreen is optional. See our custom elevator finishes page for ideas on matching the cab to your home.
Power and space requirements
Plan on three things. First, a hoistway with at least 92 inches of overhead and a pit of 8 inches, or 12 inches for the HD. Second, a machine room of about 4 feet by 5 feet near the shaft for the pump, tank and controller. Third, electrical service of 208-volt three-phase or 230-volt single-phase at 30 amps, plus a separate 120-volt 15-amp circuit for lighting. A battery-backed lowering system brings the car to a landing in a power outage, which is a real benefit during Southern California’s wildfire-season power shutoffs. Warranty, installation and what to expect
Savaria backs the Infinity with a 36-month parts warranty through the dealer, which requires regular maintenance. Our annual and bi-annual maintenance plans include a full inspection and safety-device testing and satisfy that requirement.
Installation starts with the free estimate and measure. We then build or prepare the hoistway and machine room, handle the building permit and inspection coordination with your city’s building department, set the rails and cab, make the electrical connections and finish with a test ride and battery-lowering check. A new hoistway installation takes weeks, not days; your quote includes a schedule for your home.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Savaria Infinity cost installed?
Pricing depends on the model, number of stops and construction — see what a home elevator costs. The Infinity falls in that range depending on stops, finishes and the construction around the shaft.
Does the Infinity need a machine room?
Yes. It needs a machine room of about 4 feet by 5 feet for the tank and controller, usually in a basement or utility area. If you have no space for one, the Eclipse and Zenith are machine-room-less alternatives.
What is the difference between the Infinity and the Infinity HD?
The standard Infinity carries 750, 950 or 1,000 pounds. The HD carries 1,400 pounds in a 48 by 60 inch cab and needs a 12 inch pit instead of 8 inches.
Does it work in a power outage?
A battery-backed UPS brings the car to a landing so passengers can exit. It is for evacuation, not continued normal operation.
Do you service Infinity elevators that someone else installed?
Yes. We service every major residential brand. See our elevator maintenance plan page and the list of brands we service for details.
