Handicare Freecurve Curved Stairlift in San Diego & Orange County, CA

Slim Single-Tube Rail for Indoor Stairs

Call (833) 865-7887  ·  Free in-home estimate

A slimmer curved stairlift for indoor staircases

The Handicare Freecurve is an indoor curved stairlift with a single-tube rail. Most curved stairlifts use a double rail, which is a bigger object on the stairs. The Freecurve rail is a single slim tube, available in cream, with grey or brown as options, so it takes less visual space on a staircase that is already tight. Advantage Elevator sells, installs and services it in San Diego and Orange County.

It is the curved lift to look at if the look of the rail matters, the stairs are inside the house, and the rider is of lighter build. It is rated 275 lb, which is lower than the other curved models, so weight is the first thing we check on the measure.

  • Single-tube rail built to your staircase
  • Four seats: Alliance, Elegance, Classic and Petite
  • 24-month warranty against defective parts, through your local dealer, with regular maintenance required

What stands out on the Freecurve

A slim rail

A single tube replaces the double rail. In a home with a narrow staircase, or one where the rail will be seen from the entry, that makes a visible difference.

Power options

A power swivel of up to 80 degrees and a two-way powered pivot are optional. So is a power folding footrest with an LED light.

Inclines to 61 degrees

The Freecurve handles inclines from 0 to 61 degrees, the steepest range of the curved models in this line.

Freecurve specifications

These figures come from Savaria’s published Freecurve product page and compare chart. Savaria does not state a maximum rail length for this model, so we confirm the run for your staircase on the quote. Please confirm any detail on the spec sheet.

Who the Freecurve suits

The Freecurve fits a house with a turning indoor staircase, a lighter rider and an owner who cares how the rail looks. Condominiums, townhomes and custom coastal homes with a sweeping or spiral stair are typical. The slim rail also keeps more of the stair free for others to use.

It is not the right choice for a heavier rider or for stairs outside. At 275 lb, the Freecurve carries less than the Stairfriend 23 or the Handicare 4000. If weight or exposure is a concern, we will point you to one of those instead.

The Petite seat is a smaller option, and the Alliance, Elegance and Classic seats cover comfort and style. We walk through them in your home, since the right seat depends on the rider.

Installation and service in San Diego and Orange County

A technician surveys your staircase, records the turns and landings, and checks the clearances. The rail is built to match. We install it, fit the carriage and test the full ride with you. Pricing is quoted after a free in-home measure, because a curved rail is custom.

Advantage Elevator holds California contractor license CSLB C-11 #1027832 and has been in business for more than 20 years. The warranty requires regular maintenance, and our maintenance plans are built to meet it. See also our San Diego and Orange County stairlift pages.

It is a single slim tube instead of the double rail used on most curved stairlifts. It comes in cream, with grey or brown as options.

What power options are there?

A power swivel of up to 80 degrees, a two-way powered pivot and a power folding footrest with an LED are optional.

How long a rail can the Freecurve have?

Crystal did a great job in doing the yearly maintenance work on my personal elevator. She identified why the elevator stopped working. She showed me how to make the elevator go to the ground floor if stuck midway. She vacuumed & cleaned the space on the ground floor where the elevator sits; it was so filthy most likely because it was never cleaned by previous technicians. She's very nice & calm.
