Savaria V-1504 Vertical Platform Lift in San Diego & Orange County, CA
Four Versions, Indoor or Outdoor
The Savaria V-1504: the vertical lift we install most
The Savaria V-1504 is a hydraulic vertical platform lift rated for 750 pounds. It is the lift most homeowners end up with, because it comes in four versions that cover most porch, garage, deck and interior level changes: Standard, Enclosure, Prestige and Lux. All four share the same hydraulic drive and the same 120-volt, 20-amp power requirement. They differ in how much of the lift is enclosed, how far they travel and whether they can live outdoors.
Advantage Elevator is a Savaria Elite dealer. We measure, quote, install and service the V-1504 from our Carlsbad office (San Diego County) and our Costa Mesa office (Orange County). The lift is quoted after a free in-home measure, because the rise, the landing space and the location decide the version.

Savaria’s pages give the Standard and Enclosure hoistway travel in two ways: 12 to 14 feet for commercial use in the USA and 23 feet for residential and Canadian use. Because those figures are not the same for a California home, confirm travel and stops on the spec sheet for your address. Savaria also lists a 36-month parts warranty on the V-1504, through the local dealer, with regular maintenance required.
How it works
A hydraulic pump pushes oil to a cylinder, and the cylinder raises the platform through a chain or cable arrangement. The result is a smooth, steady rise at 20 feet per minute. There is no screw to wear and no long overhead machine. The pump unit is compact, and the lift plugs into a dedicated 120-volt, 20-amp circuit, which is a standard residential panel feature. We check your panel on the first visit and tell you plainly if a new circuit is needed.
Because the drive is hydraulic, the V-1504 is a good fit for riders who value a quiet, even ride and for sites where a heavier chair or scooter needs the full 750 pound rating. Platform sizes up to 42 by 60 inches give room for a power chair to turn.
Where the V-1504 fits Southern California homes
Raised-entry coastal homes. In Del Mar, Encinitas, Coronado, Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, many homes sit a half-level above the street. A Standard or Lux lift at the front or side entry gets a wheelchair user in without a long ramp.
Split-level homes from the 1970s. Across Escondido, Poway, Mission Viejo and Yorba Linda, a step or two between the entry and the living level is common. A Standard lift with a short rise handles it, and an Enclosure keeps it neat inside a hallway.
Garage to living level. Hillside lots often leave the garage below the house. A V-1504 between the garage floor and the main floor lets a rider go directly from the car to the kitchen.
Pool decks and terraced yards. A Lux gives access to a raised deck or a pool terrace, and its outdoor rating means it can stay in the weather.
Accessory units. A back-yard guest unit or converted garage with a raised floor can be linked to the house with a short-rise lift.
Near the coast, salt air shortens the life of exposed metal and electrical contacts. We discuss an enclosure, a cover and an inspection schedule at the measure, not after install.
Installation and permits in both counties
We measure the rise, check the space at the top and bottom landings, look at the surface under the lift and confirm the power. A Standard lift needs a landing at each level large enough for the platform and a turning space. If the lift stands on a slab or deck, we check that it can carry the load.
We coordinate the building permit with your city, and we schedule the inspection. We do not promise a permit outcome. Outdoor installations often need additional drainage or a concrete pad, which we plan into the quote.
Our crews work from Carlsbad for San Diego County and from Costa Mesa for Orange County. Installation time depends on the version and the site, and we give you a schedule in writing.
Service and maintenance
The V-1504 needs regular maintenance to stay in warranty. Our maintenance plan includes a full inspection, safety-device testing and priority scheduling. Outdoor lifts, and any lift near the coast, benefit from a shorter interval between visits. For a breakdown, call (833) 865-7887, any hour. We service V-1504 lifts that we did not install as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the V-1504 Standard, Enclosure, Prestige and Lux?
Standard is the open platform. Enclosure adds walls and a door. Prestige is a finished indoor-only version, and Lux is the outdoor-rated version with a higher travel and up to four stops. All carry 750 pounds.
How high can the V-1504 go?
The Standard rises 48 inches without a shaft, and up to 60 or 72 inches for home use. The enclosed versions can travel farther, up to the limits on Savaria’s spec sheet and your local code. Confirm the travel for your address before you order.
Can the V-1504 be installed outdoors?
The Standard, Enclosure and Lux are listed for indoor and outdoor use. The Prestige is indoor only. Near the coast we recommend an enclosure and a tighter inspection schedule.
What power does it need?
A 120-volt, 20-amp, single-phase circuit. We check your panel on the visit and tell you if a new circuit is needed.
Is the V-1504 covered by a warranty?
Savaria lists a 36-month warranty on defective parts through the local dealer. Regular maintenance is required, and our maintenance plan satisfies that requirement.
