Handicare 4000 Curved Stairlift in San Diego & Orange County, CA
Custom Rail, Outdoor-Rated Option
A curved stairlift that can also live outside
The Handicare 4000 is a curved stairlift with a double rail, built to your staircase and offered with five seat choices, including an outdoor seat. It is the curved model we recommend when the stairs turn and some or all of them are outside, which is common on hillside lots in San Diego and Orange County. Advantage Elevator sells, installs and services it in both counties.
Savaria rates the 4000 for outdoor use in moderate climates, with nickel-plated rails, stainless-steel stanchions and a slate seat for outdoor installations. It also works well indoors, and the long maximum travel of 49 ft covers most residential staircases.

Curved stairs outside: the Southern California case
Hillside lots are common across La Jolla, Point Loma, Encinitas, Laguna Beach, Dana Point and the canyon neighborhoods of Orange County. A lot of those homes have the front door a full flight above the driveway, or a side entry reached by exterior stairs that turn at a landing. Those stairs see sun, marine air and the occasional hard rain. An indoor stairlift will not tolerate that.
The Outdoor seat and the nickel-plated, stainless hardware on the 4000 address that exposure, and the curved rail follows the turn. We will look at the stairs, the direction they face and how much sun and spray they get before we recommend it. If another approach suits the property better, such as a Savaria platform lift, we will say so.
Installation and service in San Diego and Orange County
A technician visits your home, surveys the staircase and records every turn, landing and clearance. The rail is built to match, and we install it and test the full ride with you. Pricing is quoted after a free in-home measure, because a curved rail is custom.
Advantage Elevator holds California contractor license CSLB C-11 #1027832 and has been in business for more than 20 years. Outdoor lifts need regular maintenance to keep working and to keep the warranty in force, and our maintenance plans are built for that. See also our San Diego and Orange County stairlift pages.
