Fox Valley Elevator Service & Repair in San Diego & Orange County
Repair and Maintenance Across Southern CA
Service for Fox Valley home elevators in San Diego and Orange County
Fox Valley Elevator is a current residential elevator maker in Appleton, Wisconsin. It is also the company that bought the assets of Waupaca Elevator Company after Waupaca went into receivership. That second fact causes confusion for owners, because the two names get mixed up on invoices, in old paperwork and in conversation. This page sorts out what Fox Valley is, what it is not, and how we service Fox Valley elevators in Southern California.

Fox Valley, Waupaca and what changed
Here is what the public record shows. Fox Valley Elevator is operated by Wisconsin Elevator Co LLC from Appleton, Wisconsin. It makes residential elevators and dumbwaiters, sells through a dealer network and lists a 36-month warranty on its product. It is active today.
Waupaca Elevator Company, also of Appleton, was a separate company. It went into a Wisconsin receivership, and Wisconsin Elevator Co LLC, doing business as Fox Valley Elevator, bought its assets. The Consumer Product Safety Commission states that the buyer did not assume Waupaca’s liabilities. In plain terms, buying the equipment and name rights did not make Fox Valley responsible for Waupaca’s old recall obligations.
The practical point for you: a Fox Valley unit and a Waupaca unit are different things. We cover the older brand, including the federal safety warnings on some Waupaca units, on our Waupaca page. Read it if there is any chance your elevator is an older Waupaca.
What to expect from a Fox Valley elevator in a Southern California home
We will not guess at your drive type or model from the brand name alone. Our technician identifies the model and serial number on the first visit and tells you what you have. What we can say in general is that a home elevator of any brand has the same wear points in this climate.
In Encinitas, Solana Beach, Newport Beach and Dana Point, the marine layer carries salt into pit equipment and door contacts. In Poway, Escondido and Yorba Linda, summer heat bakes attic and closet controllers. Throughout the region, Public Safety Power Shutoffs during fire season make the battery-backup lowering system more important than it would be elsewhere. A Fox Valley that is working well in October can fail in a heat wave, and we plan for that when we inspect.
Parts: what is verified and what is not
Because Fox Valley is a working manufacturer with a dealer network, parts for its own products come through the factory and its dealers. We order through the correct channel for your unit, confirm availability before we quote, and give you the lead time in writing.
The open question is older equipment. We have not verified whether Fox Valley supports legacy Waupaca parts, and we will not promise it. For a Waupaca-built elevator we confirm each part with the source before we quote it. Where a part is no longer made, we tell you, and we talk through repair, an equivalent component or a modernization of that section of the elevator.
We will never quote you a part we have not confirmed we can get, and we will not tell you a part is unavailable without trying the channels that might have it.
Finding the data plate
Call before you go hunting. Our technician locates the data plate on the first visit and reads the model, the serial number and the manufacture date to separate a Fox Valley from a Waupaca. If you want to look yourself, our brand identification guide lists the usual places to start, and a clear photo of any label helps us bring the right parts.
Modernization options
Many Fox Valley and Waupaca elevators in our area have been in service for years. A controller replacement, new door operators and interlocks, a new battery-backup system, LED lighting and a cab refinish can each be done separately. Our modernization pages for San Diego and Orange County explain how we scope that work, and we price each piece so you can spread it out. A written residential elevator inspection is a sensible first step if you are not sure what shape the elevator is in.
How to book
Call (833) 865-7887 and a person answers. Tell us the brand name on the cab or the controller, what the elevator is doing and whether anyone is inside. We dispatch entrapments first. For routine service you can also use the online booking page, and a maintenance plan brings the per-visit rate down to $550 from $600 with priority scheduling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Fox Valley Elevator the same company as Waupaca?
No. Waupaca Elevator Company went into a Wisconsin receivership, and Wisconsin Elevator Co LLC, doing business as Fox Valley Elevator, bought its assets. The federal Consumer Product Safety Commission says the buyer did not assume Waupaca’s liabilities.
Is Fox Valley Elevator still in business?
Yes. Fox Valley Elevator operates from Appleton, Wisconsin, makes residential elevators and dumbwaiters, and sells through a dealer network.
Can you get parts for my Fox Valley elevator?
Parts for current Fox Valley products come through the manufacturer and its dealers, and we confirm availability and lead time before we quote. We have not verified that Fox Valley supports legacy Waupaca parts, so for older units we confirm each part first.
How do I know if I have a Fox Valley or a Waupaca?
The model and serial number on the data plate tell the story. Our technician finds the plate on the first visit. If you think yours is a Waupaca, read our Waupaca page for the federal safety warnings that apply to some of those units.
Do you service Fox Valley elevators in Orange County?
Yes. We service both San Diego County and Orange County. Our Carlsbad office covers San Diego County and our Costa Mesa office covers Orange County.
