Savaria Elevator Service & Repair in San Diego & Orange County
From a Savaria Elite Dealer
Savaria service from the dealer that sells and installs them
Savaria is the brand we know best. Advantage Elevator is a Savaria Elite dealer, the premium dealer tier, so Savaria elevators are the ones we install, warranty and service every week. If you own an Eclipse, Infinity, Zenith or Vuelift, or an older Savaria-built unit sold under another name, this page explains what we repair, what we replace, and what you should know about the free safety upgrade Savaria offers.
Our technicians work out of Carlsbad for San Diego County and Costa Mesa for Orange County. We repair Savaria elevators we did not install, too. A lot of calls come from homeowners whose original installer has closed or stopped answering the phone.

Safety notice: child-entrapment recall and the free space guard
Please read this if your Savaria elevator was installed between 1999 and 2021. On January 11, 2022, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 19,500 Savaria residential elevators in the United States. The recalled models are Eclipse, Infinity, Kwiklift, MR and HR.
The hazard is a gap between the hoistway door (the door on each floor) and the car door or gate. A young child can become trapped in that gap if the elevator moves. The remedy is free: Savaria supplies space guards, which close the gap. Savaria’s recall line is 855-983-5520 and its recall site is home-elevator-door-gap.com. CPSC says the model name is on the controller.
The same CPSC announcement covered recalls on two other brands and a warning on a third. You can read ours on the elevator brands page, and the full CPSC text on cpsc.gov. If you are not sure whether your elevator is covered, call us. We can look at it during a visit and tell you what we see. We also recommend keeping young children from playing in or around any home elevator, recalled or not.
Repairs we do on Savaria elevators
Most Savaria calls fall into a short list. Door and gate faults come first. A hoistway door interlock or car gate switch that does not make contact is the most common reason a residential elevator refuses to run, and we carry the common ones. After that come leveling problems, where the car stops a little above or below the floor, and control board faults that show up as a fault code or an elevator that will not respond to calls.
On Infinity hydraulic units we diagnose valves, seals, the pump and motor, and oil leaks. On Eclipse and Zenith traction units we look at the drive chain or ropes, the brake, the sheave and the motor. On Vuelift we inspect the winding drum, the cables and their termination, and the self-supporting frame.
Every repair ends with a test ride and a check of the battery lowering system. That feature brings the car to a floor during a power outage, and it is the part owners forget to test.
Parts for Savaria elevators
Savaria itself is the factory source for Savaria parts, and as an Elite dealer we order through it. Common wear items such as switches, relays, contactors and door operators are usually easy to get. For older, discontinued Savaria models, we cannot promise a factory part will exist. Where Savaria no longer lists a part, we look for a compatible replacement or an upgrade path, and we tell you the lead time before you approve anything.
Savaria’s published warranty on its home elevators is 36 months against defective parts, through the local dealer, and it requires regular maintenance. Our maintenance plan is built to satisfy that requirement.
Modernizing an older Savaria elevator
An older Savaria elevator rarely needs replacing. The frame, rails and hoistway usually outlast the electronics. A modernization can replace the controller, update the door operator and gate, swap in new lighting, and refresh the cab finishes. Our San Diego modernization and Orange County modernization pages explain the options.
If the unit is past repair and you want a new one, Savaria offers the Eclipse, Infinity, Zenith and Vuelift for homes with a hoistway, and the Telecab and Luma through-floor lifts for two-story homes without one. We install all of them.

Finding the nameplate and booking service
CPSC says the Savaria model name is on the controller. Beyond that, our technician locates the data plate on the first visit, so you do not need to hunt for it. Our brand identification guide lists general places to look.
To book, call (833) 865-7887 or use online booking. Tell us the model if you know it and describe what the elevator is doing. If someone is trapped, say so first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my Savaria elevator part of the recall?
The 2022 CPSC recall covers Savaria Eclipse, Infinity, Kwiklift, MR and HR models made between 1999 and 2021. The model name is on the controller. If you are unsure, call us and we will check it during a visit, or call Savaria’s recall line at 855-983-5520.
What does the space guard cost?
Nothing. The remedy in the CPSC recall is a free space guard supplied by Savaria. Ask us or contact Savaria to arrange it, and we can look at the fit when we visit.
Do you service Savaria elevators you did not install?
Yes. As a Savaria Elite dealer we service Savaria units regardless of who installed them. Many of our calls come from owners whose installer has closed.
Does Savaria’s warranty require maintenance?
Yes. Savaria’s warranty on its home elevators is 36 months against defective parts through the local dealer, and it requires regular maintenance. Our maintenance plans satisfy that requirement.
Can you get parts for an old Savaria or Concord elevator?
Often, but we do not promise it. Savaria is the factory source for its parts. If a part is discontinued we look for a compatible replacement or an upgrade, and we give you the lead time before work starts.
